Hermés' luxe swim style
MANILA, Philippines - In the 1920s, as exercise and sporting activities became popular, Hermès began to create sportswear clothing for horse-riding, skiing, and aquatic sports. Whether beachwear, swimwear or skiwear, all rapidly flourished. Indeed, this “sport-chic” clothing placed comfort and unrestrained movement first.
In the Hermés’ spring/summer 2012 collection created by Christophe Lemaire, swimwear is presented in four different themes: solid colors, graphic, Thalassa, and Vent Portant prints.
Pierre Péron first created Thalassa in 1973. Yannick Manier initially designed Vent Portant in 1992.
Polish top model Malgosia Bela is featured in the ad campaign photographed by Zoé Ghertner.
