MANILA, Philippines - Gaz Holgate, British-Filipino rugby team player for the Philippine Volcanoes, brings in some serious hunk factor to Bench Body, signing up as the brand’s latest endorser.
Holgate’s Bench Body campaign is simple: he recreates everyday mundane activities in an apartment, some of which include lying on the bed, going out to the balcony for some fresh air, sitting pensively on the carpet, brushing his teeth and even putting on his rugby uniform. These all seem perfectly normal but his boy-next-door look and his chiseled athletic body tell a different and intriguing picture story.
In the rooms and hallways of an apartment where the shoot was held, we can only imagine the chaos: the makeup artist organizing his or her palette and brushes on the table, the photographer and his assistant setting up the lights needed for the shoot and the stylist fixing the boxers and briefs, and lining them up for each layout. Amazingly, in the photos, Gaz shows no sign of stress on his face.
The campaign is like a scene from a certain morning after, with the bed unkempt, but the only exception is that he’s alone — which makes him much more appealing and mysterious to the public. The 24-year-old rugby player is clad in nothing but a pair of Bench Body underwear. From basic boxer styles to colorful, eye-catching briefs, Holgate, like all the brand’s brawny endorsers, is definitely another sight for sore eyes. Blues, whites, blacks and hints of yellow and red adorn the underwear he’s wearing.
Bench Body continues to increase its number of celebrities as well as its athlete endorsers in support of the country. Having Filipino-British rugby athlete Gaz Holgate as one of the brand’s endorsers creates a stir of patronage to Filipinos here and homage to those Filipinos abroad.
