Hi, Ms. Rissa!
Just wanna ask what moisturizer you could recommend for oily skin?

For someone with oily skin like you, your moisturizer should be oil-free yet replenish the moisture your skin needs. Water-based moisturizers are the best because they are light, easily absorbed, and non-greasy. With the warm weather coming, we all want to keep our skin supple and hydrated yet avoid unsightly grease and shine. I have combination skin and to prepare for the summer heat, I’m also in search of a non-sticky moisturizer.
I love what I found at the mall over the weekend! From Korea’s top beauty brand The Face Shop, I felt so giddy to find three awesome moisturizers perfect for both oily skin and battling the summer heat!
• Arsainte Eco-Therapy Crystal Water Super Gel. This lightweight gel-type moisturizer is great for oily skin. Infused with Iceberg Crystal Water that instantly provides a cool and tingly refreshing feeling when applied to the skin, it’s a perfect moisturizer for summer. Looking fresh and hydrated is no sweat!
• Pore Minimizer Controlling Cream. For those who battle with not just oily skin but large pores, too, this is the answer to your prayers! This product is formulated to control excess oil build-up, tighten pores, and moisturize skin for a soft and smooth look and feel. The ingredient mushroom extract serves as a natural astringent to fight oily skin and large pores.
• E’thym O2 Water Moisture Lotion. My personal favorite among the three! I love that it’s a water-based moisturizer, which makes it ultra light and perfect for oily skin. Because it boasts the skin-revitalizing ingredient Oxygen Water, skin is hydrated without the sticky feel. It spreads so smoothly and easily, and the scent reminds me of green tea. It gives me the two things I want: long-lasting hydration without the sticky feeling. Big bonus: It makes use of natural ingredients together with The Face Shop’s 5-free system: mineral oil-free, paraben-free, benzophenone-free, artificial colorant-free, animal origin ingredient-free. So, yes, it’s great for those with sensitive skin and even preggy moms.

All Eyes On The Perfect Eyeliner
Dear Lucy,
I love what eyeliners can do, if only I was as good as applying it as a professional makeup artist is! It really intimidates me because I always end up drawing a shaky, spidery line or one eye ends up looking bigger than the other. So-not-beautiful. What gives?
Che-Che
I agree. Eyeliner does misrepresent itself as something easy when, in fact, it is not always so. I myself leave it to the pros, but on those days when I am left with no choice but to do it myself, I use dark brown powder, applied gingerly with a wet brush, to define my eyes. I do not like using liquid liner because unless you are an expert at it, the line it draws can look very harsh. It closes in the eyes and can easily make you look older than your years.
Recently though, I chanced upon Max Factor’s Colour Perfection Eyeliner which is a mechanical and precision eyeliner that you just twist so the tip pops out. What I love about it is that unlike most eyeliners that sharpen to a peak, this one is always softly rounded with every use (something that the built-in sharpener at the other end ensures). You will find that that is the best tip to work with because it always gives your eyes definition in a sexy, natural-looking way. It comes in lovely colors, too, my current favorites other than the black and brown being khaki and ice blue. The khaki color is especially a genius because with the subtle color it gives, it is almost impossible to make a mistake.
I am hoping this helps you and for what it is worth, know that practice does make perfect. Go to a beauty counter, ask an expert to teach you how to do it. Be patient and have fun learning, before you know it, you will have found many ways to make your eyes take center stage.

The Lash Word On Curlashes
Dear Ms. Tingting,
I am desperately in need of a curlash to really make my eyelashes curly. Or maybe I just don’t know the technique because of its shortness. It is really hard to curl. What will I do?
Nemy
Go to Watsons and look for a curlash with a long handle. The technique is to hold it firmly on the lashes for a while longer and immediately apply mascara to hold the lashes while they are newly curled.
