Wear your true colors

This season is all about color and a sense of optimism.

The arrival of bold and vibrant colors in the lastest fashion collections was a welcome change, and a lot were excited about shopping for this trend to upgrade their existing wardrobes. And it’s amazing how even now, when the scene is transitioning to the next season, the colors are still preferred by a lot of fashionistas, a clear detour from the usual “dark angel” vibe of the preceding season.

It is precisely this that led designers to showcase a lot of bold hues for their collection deviating from the usual dark and somber tones.

With colors bursting from one collection to another, wearing too much might be, well, a little too much. And if you’re not a fan of the color blocking or the bold color trend, incorporating this in your wardrobe could be challenging. If you would rather take this trend in small dosages, accessories and footwear would be a great alternative to introduce to your closet.

Pedro’s latest collection, “Optimism,” is a line that embraces the idea of being bold. The brand has been known for its fashionable and on-trend designs for men and women, offering fashionable footwear from sky-high platforms, multi-strapped gladiators, textured pumps to loafers and mocassins —all very high fashion and in tune with the latest and hottest designs off the runway. With their new offering, they opted to be playful and fun-spirited, focusing on one of the most loved trends for the season — bright, bold colors. Pinks and oranges take center stage in cute garterized flats and chic peep-toe numbers, perfect for strolling around the mall or stepping out for a fun night with friends.

Color coding: Opt for bright shades this season. Nico sports blue buttondown and plaid shorts all by CC Double O, blue mocassins by Pedro; Denise, printed top by CPS Chaps and orange peeptoes by Pedro; and Arnold wears green pique shirt and khaki shorts all by CC Double O, green mocassins by Pedro.

Proving that true men can also wear color, hyper-bright hues such as blues, greens and yellows in loafers and mocassins dominate their men’s collection. The casual styles are versatile and can be worn for any occasion.

Wearing colors, in fact, seemingly gave birth to a new breed of stylistas that has noticeably cropped up these days. They are younger, hipper and more playful, not limiting their picks to the tried and tested. As these promising personalities show, wearing their school colors loud and proud is the best way to do it.

Pedro shops are at TriNoma, SM Mall of Asia, Bonifacio High Street and The Block at SM City North EDSA. CPS Chaps is at Bonifacio High Street and TriNoma. CC Double O is at SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia.
