Blush and lipstick that will make you glow naturally
Dear Rissa,
Can you recommend a really nice blush and lipstick I can use every day? I don’t mind if it’s a bit pricey. Just so I can use it every day so it’s worth every centavo.
Queenie F., QC
I particularly like some items from the latest collection of MAC called Semi Precious (you can find MAC at Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza, Glorietta 3, Makati and Marionnaud, Mall of Asia). Try the MAC Mineralize Blush in the shade Warmth of Coral (P1,500). You know how some blushes, although very pretty, make it obvious that you’re wearing blush powder because they’re either too pink or peachy (or even too shimmery)? I love this blush because it gives the face a healthy glow without making you look like you’re actually wearing blush! It’s the kind of blush that will make people ask you, “What have you been doing? You’re glowing!” instead of “Your blush is so nice! What shade is that?” You get complimented for a natural innate glow instead of for wearing nice makeup. Now, who wouldn’t want that?
From MAC’s latest lipsticks, I love the shade Gem of Rose, a mid-tone strawberry pink (P1,000). It’s creamy and easy to apply. It actually feels like lip balm and lipstick combined so it’s never drying. And the color? It was love at first swipe! This is the ultimate “your lips but better” lipstick! The shade instantly wipes away the ngarag or haggard look without overpowering your beauty. It looks so natural (and is very prettifying) that it looks equally great on a bare face or on a made-up one. I like this so much that I’m thinking of using it for my upcoming wedding. I think it’s the perfect shade for the bride-to-be!

Floral Attraction
Dear Lucy,
I notice that floral prints are so in now. Where can I find these sweet prints in trendy designs and affordable prices? I really like the look.
How about shoes to go with it? I am so into the shabby chic look. Please point me towards the right direction.
Gwen
I know just the place for you. Please go to CPS at Bonifacio High Street. I went crazy there. They have lovely floral tops and pretty skirts to match. You can make it a bit more formal by pairing the floral top with a solid colored skirt that reaches the knee or some trousers, but during the weekends, you can wear something more flirty with it, like shorts or a flouncy skirt. Everything is so pretty there; you must spend time going around just mixing and matching, and thinking out of the box.
For shoes, there is a shop named Call It Spring, it is impossible not to find something you like there.
Happy shopping Gwen!

How To Erase The Tired Look Off Your Face
Dear Ms. Tingting,
Balancing work, children, a husband, and friends, I have no time for myself. I find myself looking so tired in the morning I can’t even find time to fix my makeup.
Maan
Don’t put a bronzer or blush on top of your foundation, as your face will look more tired. Put a trusted bronzing gel all over your face and neck for an instant glow.
Another thing you must know is how to put on foundation. When you must use a foundation — gently pat concealer under your eyes, paying special attention to the inner corners. Then cover laugh lines by dabbing a concealer with wrinkle-relaxing properties on with your fingers. When your makeup has set, use a sponge to press highlighter along your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and on the V of your upper lip to add radiance.
