Fashionable Filipinas were visible at the Makati Shangri-La’s weekly Fashion Watch shows, certainly the event to “see and be seen.” Featured were the designer tandems of stylish Lulu Tan Gan and classic JC Buendia, talented Ito Curata with avant-garde Jerome Lorico, as well as Cebu’s pride OJ Hofer and Dennis Lustico.
Many fashionable mothers brought their equally fashionable daughters to view the shows — among them were Ana and Pia Ugarte, Bella Yuchengco and Sunshine Pengson, Linda and Adrienne Ley, Chichi Lizot and Alex Garcia, Dette Tan and Audrey Zubiri, Joanna Francisco and Monica Dizon.
I overheard a foreign businessman tell his colleague, “The ladies who are watching make up more than half of the show that is being presented by the designers on stage. They are a pretty sight to behold.”
And I must say that some of the women in the audience easily outshone the models. It was time to people watch, or better put, lady watch.
Mega magazine’s annual 10 Most Beautiful Women at Opus in Resorts World celebrated beauty in diversity as they honored women who proved that not only are they a sight to behold, but that their character and strength are testaments of true and unwavering beauty. The list included Frencheska Farr, Andi Eigenmann, Rocio Olbes, Alyanna Martinez, Lorraine Belmonte, Mons Romulo, Nadine Howell, Hye Won, Charina Sarte, and Vanessa Matsunaga Sarte.
“Just like fashion, the definition for beauty changes over the course of time, and you can count on Mega to always be at the forefront of fashion and beauty,” says the magazine’s deputy editor and publisher Meryll Yan.
