MANILA, Philippines - Three years ago about 300 creative, collaborative minds from all parts of the globe decided they wanted comfort and freshness for their feet, but they wanted none of those chunky, sandal-type designs. They wanted to look good. And so, Mint Design Footwear was born.
Originating from the US, the brand has since stormed countries like Taipei, Japan and Hong Kong, creating followers out of creative and sensible individuals, businesspeople and environmentalists, skaters, artists, designers, musicians, entrepreneurs, educators, students, leaders, everybody and anybody who wants a good-looking but comfortable pair of shoes to work and play in.
“Mint Design Footwear uses the 100-percent open cell technology E.V.A as its material, which features a lightweight, shock-absorbent design that minimizes fatigue,” James Napoles of the Mint Design-Manila team explains. “We’ve developed this Energy Flow Technology (EFT), which, quite literally, feels like you’re being given a foot massage as you walk.”
“Our shoes are streamlined versions of classic footwear designs which we will be updating every season, so there will always be something new,” Darwin Cruz, another Mint Design partner, says. “Plus the shoes have these vented holes for breathability, so it’s really the perfect footwear choice all-year round.”
The brand, which is distributed by Peanut Butter & Jelly (PB&J) Corporation in the Philippines, currently has four designs and 28 different styles. Mint shoes are available at Robinson’s Galleria, D’Mall, and Discovery Shores for P1, 799 to P2,299 per pair.
