Kashieca: Sailing into you
MANILA, Philippines - Nautical wear gets a sophisticated twist with Kashieca’s latest French Riviera-inspired collection.
Breton stripes take centerstage, appearing on light cardigans, or perhaps a body-con skirt, but most ingeniously—and in broad strokes—as the overlaid print on full-lace blouses.
Navy blue makes a big statement as well, with peplum skirts, high waist shorts, or an elegant gold-buttoned cardigan. On the other hand, basics are given a twist, with a rope-motif long-sleeved blouse; a red-and-white striped top embroidered with an anchor motif, and rendered in a trendy one-shouldered silhouette; or even a Lolita-esque, polka-dot, ruffle-trimmed pair of short shorts.
Rounding out the mix are smart shirtdresses, bib-collar shifts, canvas bags and beaded bracelets for a seaside-meets-uptown charm, shown off by none other than Kashieca endorser Bea Alonzo, whose fresh beauty is the perfect complement to the brand’s breezy yet luxuriously made collection.
All in all, the fashion story is a nod to that most stylish Parisienne, the late, great designer Coco Chanel. Known for her signature nautical stripes, clean silhouettes, impeccable tailoring, and tasteful fabric choices, Mademoiselle Chanel was and continues to be an icon for the ages. From her example, today’s fashion continues to set sail.
