MANILA, Philippines - Now a big hit on TV is Mega magazine’s homegrown fashion reality show, Gen M: Generation Mega, the MegaYoung Designers Competition 2011. Since its first airing date last Nov. 15, aspiring fashion designers and fashion-savvy individuals tuned in to ETC to catch the
most-awaited fashion reality TV show to hit Philippine TV. Since 1994, Mega has been on the lookout for the next best young designer in the country. Already in its ninth edition, the YDC
prides itself on discovering fashion’s brightest stars and most respected luminaries. The 16-year tradition has produced a list of prestigious alumni including renowned designers (1994) OJ Hofer, Erni Kwan, Rajo Laurel, Furne One; (1995) Melvin Lachica, Michi Calica-Sotto, Mario Rotersos; (1997) Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Raoul Ramirez; (2000) Edwin Ao, Raymond Noni Diza, Hadji Godinez, Ricky Vicencio; (2002) Ivarluski Aseron, Lizanne Cua, Chris Diaz, Mich Dulce, Alex Pigao, LZ Punzalan, Roel Rosal; (2004) Ferdie Abuel, Catherine Cavilte, Donn Delantar,
Jeffrey Rogador, Gian Romano; (2006) Veejay Floresca, Aries Lagat, Estien Quijano; and (2008) Vanessa Ang.
