Finding the right high heels and shoe forth and shoe on

Dear Lucy,

I love the sexiness that high heels bring, but how do I survive in them? They hurt!

What kind of clothes should I get for the new year? I want to revamp my wardrobe.

I think it is precisely for that reason that the wedge was invented. Whatever your taste, whether it is sculptural, strappy or sporty, this chunky style still has sexy in mind even as it keeps you grounded and comfortable. This extends your legs to make them look like they go on and on. Shoes should not hurt though and it is just a matter of finding the brand that fits you comfortably. YSL is very comfortable, even if they go very high. So are Pedro Garcia’s (available at Adora, Greenbelt 5, Makati).

As far as dresses are concerned, you will not go wrong with the long and loose dresses. We can all breathe a sigh of relief as silky, comfortable dresses that skim instead of cling to the body are here to stay. Keep an eye out for trousers also, even if they come in soft denim. Sitting on the waist and paired with lovely blouses, they look fresh and feminine.        Lucy

 For red, I really like Dashing Diva’s New York Slice (available at Beauty Bar). This red stands out among all reds. I’ve never gotten so many compliments on such a basic color! Another red shade I’ve tried is Essie’s Red Nouveau (available at Rustan’s). My nail technician from Nail Spa (they do the best manicures and pedicures) said, “Ma’am, maganda ito, nakakaputi!”
