Bottega follows the silk road

MANILA, Philippines - For its fall-winter collection, Bottega Veneta presents line and movement; a dark, rich palette of ink blue, chocolate, bottle green, carbon gray, and black occasionally illuminated by touches of iridescent metallics.

Materials such as washed silk twill, Japanese triacetate cady, crinkled chiffon, silk chiffon, silk crepe, and silk-and-cashmere jersey outline and enhance the movement of the body while compact wool, cashmere, brocade, double-knit wool, and shearling create a more constructed line.

The silhouette is narrow and long, structured at the top and fluid at the bottom.

Worn across the body, the handbags range from large to sporty hunting bags and evening purses. Shoes have two aspects: those made of suede and satin are designed to disappear; others, in metallic and iridescent leathers, command attention. Jewelry is made of antique sterling silver, colored enamel, and sweet water pearls.

“The silhouette is the focus of the collection,” says creative director Tomas Maier. “It starts powerfully, with a structured shoulder, then becomes gentler and more fluid on the bottom. Only when a woman moves do you see the line of body, the completion of the silhouette.”

In the Philippines, Bottega Veneta is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 4, Ayala Center, Makati and Rustan’s Makati.
