Ready to party this Christmas
Dear Rissa,
There are so many Christmas get-togethers to attend this December. I’m so harassed with work and I will have to go straight from the office to these parties. What’s an easy way to instantly transform my makeup into a look that’s party-ready?
Marilou
For makeup that’s ready to party, make sure to equip your kikay kit with the new Winter Trend Make-Up Collection from The Body Shop. For busy women like you, the Eye Palettes (available in two limited-edition eye palettes) will be your best friend for the season. Perfect for creating sexy party eyes, it features four pressed powder eye colors plus a shimmering highlighter that wonderfully multi-tasks — you can apply it to your eyes, cheekbones, and brow bones for an instant holiday glow. When you open the palette, you’ll discover a handy mirror and applicator. Yup, you can easily achieve the holiday sparkle even when on the go.
The Stardust-Glitter Pots are handy must-haves, too. These cute party pots of intense shimmer allow you to sparkle the night away. Choose between a feminine pink and glamorous gold. Dust it anywhere on the body for skin that glistens or just press over the eyelids to immediately turn dull day makeup into a fabulous night look. If you want instant drama, try the Starlight Eye Liner. To widen and brighten tired eyes in less than a minute, simply sweep this shimmering silver liner across the top lash line. Perfect for a quick subtle but sexy look.

Gifts for Girlfriends Who Have Everything
Dear Lucy,
What can I give my stylish girlfriends for Christmas? They can afford to get what they want, but I still want to get them gifts that will delight. Any suggestions?
Kookie
I have lots of suggestions. I think ladies are the easiest to give gifts to. Give them anything that is functional and easy on the eyes, and for sure, they will be delighted. Evita Peroni has lovely accessories. I am especially fond of their jeweled clips, they hold really well aside from the fact that they are beautiful! They’re perfect especially for the easy and messy hairstyles that are so the thing now. They add polish to an undone look that was intentional in the first place.
Other great options are accessories like multi-purpose pouches, wallets, fancy luggage tags, card holders. For these, I will point you to AC+632, which carries John Robshaw accessories that are just delightful. But you must hurry because stocks are very limited. Almost as soon as they are shipped, they get sold already! You have to see them, they are just lovely!
Another thing that will delight is makeup. Lip gloss is always a safe choice and so is blush, especially if you get colors that are foolproof and universally flattering.

Varicose: Not in vein
Dear Ms. Tingting,
I am currently working in Dubai-UAE. My problem is: After I gave birth to my second baby, small varicose veins started appearing on my legs, and I am applying Herodoid ointment.
Is Herodoid effective? Or are there any other ointments that help vanish varicose veins? I cannot even wear skirts or pedal pushers. Please give me tips on how to get rid of my varicose veins.
Kersha
I have the same problem with my broken capillaries. See a dermatologist for varicosity and spider veins for sclerotherapy, which to me is better than laser.
Try Dr. Maricar Cruz at Belo Makati and Dr. Jet Lopez at Belo Greenhills for capillaries on the legs, and Dr. Zydie Sagala or Dr. Myra Red at Belo Timog for capillaries on the face.
Herodoid ointment, which is vitamin K, is good for the circulation in the area where there are the tiniest spider veins to keep them from worsening.
