Congressional Spouses Inc. presents 'Art @ Congress'

MANILA, Philippines - Congressional Spouses Incorporated, headed by Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte-Alimurung, and Art Gallery Manila present “Art @ Congress,” which opens today at the south corridor of Batasang Pambansa, Quezon City.

“Art @ Congress” is one of the country’s biggest art expositions this year, gathering an impressive roster of artworks by National Artists, Filipino masters, as well as noted modern and contemporary artists.

Participating artists are Anita Magsaysay Ho, Arturo Luz, H.R. Ocampo, Ramon Orlina, Cesar Legaspi, Ang Kiukok, Juvenal Sanso, Arnica Acantilado, Amante, Kevin “Gripo” Balboa, Biwan, Malyn Bonayog, Nelson Bosita, Salvador Ching, Budz Convocar, Rene Cuvos, Don de Dios, Mael de Guzman, Anna de Leon, Edeguz, Caloy Gabuco, P.J. Jalandoni, Ronald Jeresano, Maia, Josue Mangobrang Jr., Roel Obemio, Fred Ramirez, Omi Reyes, Jeffrey Salon, Jerson Samson, Fidel Sarmiento, Aner Sebastian, Tala, Julmard Vicente and Migs Villanueva.

With more than a hundred artworks on view, “Art @ Congress” aims to enhance awareness and promote to government officials and private citizens alike how Filipino creativity is one of the sources of Filipino pride. Guests of honor are House of Representatives Speaker Sonny Belmonte, Marilen Abigail Binay, Winnie Castelo, Imelda Marcos, Manny Pacquiao, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, Gloria Tan Climaco and Richard Gomez.

Some of the proceeds of the “Art @ Congress” exhibition will help fund the charitable projects of the House of Representatives.
