Aldo enjoys an everything-is-possible freedom

-

MANILA, Philippines - Trends adopt an “everything is possible” freedom this season. Playful reinvention of past heritage with a modern approach of dynamic life, without forgetting the fundamental values of comfort, functionality and self-identity.

Aldo’s latest season’s trends all share one common value: authenticity.

Who says vintage is out? This season, American Heritage is the new frontier of fashion.

This trend envisions leather satchels and vintage-inspired sweaters for him and her in shades of beige and earth tone accents. It is about cozy comfort and the perfect look for a fall Love Story. It is also about footwear that is functional in the form of moccasins and hiking boots, perfect for the “urban forest” experience.

If you want to try something more outgoing and adventurous, get ready to enter the Military Academy that has played a role in fashion for decades. But for this season, we go beyond faded green army fatigues to shearling-lined bomber jackets, long scarves and aviator caps, classic peacoats and a more dapper layered look with an emphasis on casual utility.

Brat pack: Bordo stilettos for her and patent leather shoes for him.

Key colors for this trend are black, mid-brown, sand, khaki, taupe, gray and army green. Watch out for boiled wool, canvas, camouflage print, metal accents, bullets and distressed leather in army boots, jackets and handbags. Accessories like military badges, chains, military cap, aviator jackets and hats complete the military look.

Try settling in on something classy if vintage or adventures are not your thing. Stride your way to the Victorian Wonderland and Dandy for a Modern Wonderland for her and Dandy for him, with “unafraid to flaunt” Victorian references. For the gentlemen, eye-catching fedoras and Oscar Wilde-inspired hats paired with velvet bowties and jewel-toned dress shoes for a look that stands out in a crowd.

The trend will be dominated by black, nude, champagne, teal, and aubergine, supported by colored metallics to tame the trend a bit. Key materials and details to watch out for are tapestry, brocade, organza, lace, velvet, kid suede, soft leathers, kilties, lettuce hem, Mary Janes, rococo heels and boudoir brogues. The Victorian look is completed with velvet bowties, multiple cocktail rings over gloves, statement jewelry, layered necklaces, velvet bows, tapestry bangles, lace details and delicate over-the-eye netting headbands.

Not satisfied yet? You can try something more unique and interesting with Galactic Minimalism, as art meets function paired with form.

Our inspirations are tailored suits, bandage-strap shoes, androgynous basics and architectural accessories. The structured shapes take cue from the past visions of future fashion, namely 1920s art deco (including signature rings and bangles) and 80s new wave bands (skinny ties and monochromatic outfits) — but of the future.

Bold but minimalist accessories in the form of geometric jewelry, monochromatic necklaces, bowler hats and men’s skinny ties will complete this futuristic yet wearable trend.

Footwear and accessories inspired by the four major fall 2010 trends can be found at Aldo at Bonifacio High Street, Greenbelt 5, Power Plant Mall, Robinsons Place Ermita, Robinsons Galleria, Shangri-la Plaza, SM City Cebu, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, The Block, SM North EDSA, TriNoma and Marquee Mall (sale shop). The brand extension, Aldo Accessories, offers up-to-date handbags and accessories perfect for mixing and matching with one’s on-trend footwear.
