Who wore what at the Star Magic Ball

MANILA, Philippines - It’s the movie stars’ annual red carpet moment. It’s the only time of the year when Philippine entertainment’s brightest and finest stars come together. It’s glitzy, it’s fabulous, it’s starry-magical. Yes, it’s the Star Magic Ball.

ABS-CBN’s premier talent development and management center once again celebrated its unmatched success through the fourth annual Star Magic Ball held last September at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

Led by Star Magic heads Johnny “Mr. M.” Manahan and Mariole Alberto, the talent center’s prized stars came glammed up and dressed splendidly for the night’s spectacle. At the ballroom lobby, everyone was greeted by a serenade from a strings quartet and served with flutes of Moët & Chandon, the world famous champagne.

After the sumptuous dinner feast, host Megan Young and JM Rodriguez welcomed everyone to the occasion that featured world-class performances. One of the most memorable acts was the Martin Nievera song number, which was dedicated to honoring “The Man” who has been unfailingly standing by all the Star Magic artists throughout the years, the father and mentor, Mr. M. The heartfelt moment was joined in by his “kids” from the talent center who sang along with the Concert King.

A special recognition “The Star Magic Icon” was given to the a Star Magic member who has achieved tremendous success because of dedication to his craft, hard work and incomparable talent; somebody who people look up to as a role model. This was given to actor, singer and Star Magic’s homegrown talent, Piolo Pascual.

Ruling the night of sheer sophistication with their regal presence are the fourth Star Magic Ball King and Queen of the Night — John Lloyd Cruz and Maricar Reyes. ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio was named the Most Elegant. Zanjoe Marudo and Bea Alonzo were named the Most Stylish Pair; Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson were the night’s Best Dressed. Jake Cuenca and Shaina Magdayao were hailed Mr. and Ms. Fashionista, respectively. Bagging the Most Glamorous Award for two consecutive years was Anne Curtis. Comedienne Kitkat took home the Most Fashion-Forward award. Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto were honored as the Moet and Chandon Sparkling Couple of the Night while Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales were the Moet and Chandon Cinema’s Most Romantic Couple. Lastly, the Coke Zero Wild and Fit Award was given to upcoming young stars Joseph Marco, Jessy Mendiola, and AJ Perez.

Making the night ultimately refreshing for the country’s fittest and sexiest was the world-renowned beverage that made possible the combination of great taste with zero sugar — Coke Zero makes being “Wild at Heart, Fit in Body” possible with an active, healthy lifestyle.

The stars were also given beauty products from Dr. Aivee Aguilar Teo’s Skin and Laser Clinic and jewelry pieces by Joy Sison.

They also received beauty bags from Rustan’s The Beauty Source. Rustan’s spans the globe to bring home the best beauty products, well-being services and treatments. It is home to exclusive scents such as Chanel, Santa Maria Novella, Annick Goutal and Juliette Has a Gun, to name a few. The most sought-after beauty must-haves also find their place with the likes of Nars, Christian Dior, Bobbi Brown, and Laura Mercier. And it also knows that well-being is at the top of everyone’s list with special services from Clarins, Murad, Dermalogica, and N.V. Perricone, among others.
