Skin care tips from The Skin Specialist
Dr. Jean Marquez of The Skin Specialist shares essential tips to keep the skin feeling smooth and looking sensational.
Drinking the recommended eight glasses of water a day and eating fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants are big factors in ensuring a beautifully healthy skin. Also, eating food with high water content such as broccoli, bean sprouts, cabbage, green pepper, celery, pickles, cucumber, raw eggplant, squash, lettuce, cantaloupe, peaches, and strawberries helps hydrate the skin, keeping it smooth and supple.
Minimizing sun damage is key to obtaining and maintaining healthy skin. To do this, Dr. Jean advises, one must always follow the ABCs of skin care.
“A is for away. Stay away from the sun in the middle of the day; B is for block. Use sunblock with SPF 15 on a regular day and higher SPF content for hotter days; and C is for cover up. Wear tightly woven clothes and wide-brimmed hats to repel the sun’s harmful rays,” Dr. Jean explains.
