First Ladies' ternos at Rustan's

MANILA, Philippines - Rustan’s presents an exhibit of the Philippine First Ladies’ gowns at Rustan’s Galerie in Makati.

This is Rustan’s tribute to the First Ladies and the evolution of the Filipino costume that also reflected the period they stood alongside their husband in the service of the country.

The exhibit narrates this evolution from the time when women wore the Filipino costume everyday up until the day when it was adorned with intricate details. The exhibit also embodies how the First Ladies achieved more stature by being highly regarded for their contributions in the country and society.

The exhibit, ongoing until May 31, covers the ternos and Filipino costumes worn by Hilaria Aguinaldo, Aurora Quezon, Esperanza Osmena, Trinidad Roxas, Luz Magsaysay, Leonila Garcia, Evangelina Macapagal, Luisa Ejercito and Imelda Marcos.
