The perfect tan: Oh, what a peeling!

I really like having a tanned look because it makes me look slimmer. I’m fair skinned so after a trip to the beach, my tan fades quickly and does not last very long. I want to get that tan color back. Can you recommend a good self-tanning product that is easy to use?

Sexy tanned skin not only makes any girl look slimmer, it also makes the orange peel appearance of cellulite less visible to the naked eye. That’s why a lot of models always make sure they are beautifully tanned for swimwear shows and photo shoots. The best tanning products that come to mind are from the Australian cult beauty brand Model Co (exclusively available at Beauty Bar). Model Co is responsible for the tanned and glowing bodies at the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows. I personally love Model Co because their tanning products don’t give a fake orange tan and they truly give a streak-free and fuss-free glow. Most of the self-tanning lotions I have tried give off an uneven color that leaves streaks and stains, and when I sweat, I can see stains of the tanning lotion dripping.

Try it. The result is a healthy, natural-looking tan that will last for days. Apart from giving you safe sunless tanning, it puts an end to stained hands and uneven coverage. It’s non-greasy, smells great (with no telltale signs of fake tanning), and is so easy to use. The product comes in a bottle with a buff sponge at the tip. Simply shake the bottle well before using and turn it upside down so you can squeeze it and allow the product to be absorbed by the sponge. Remember, a little goes a long way so a quick press is all you need. Hold on to the bottle like a handle, allowing the sponge to get into contact with your skin in steady strokes. Apply it to one area at a time.

I like the way the sponge buff makes the product easy to apply. The result is an even, streak-free tan with professional-looking results. It also works great on hard-to-reach places like the back. Since the self-tanner develops and intensifies with your own skin color, one shade suits all skin tones. Simply layer the formula for a more intense tan. For readers who have been asking about modelling lessons, check out My Talent, a summer workshop program in Eastwood City designed for kids, teens, and adults alike who have a talent for singing, dancing, acting, and modeling.

I will handle a modeling course that offers lessons and training in the basic aspects of modeling. There will be sessions on building confidence, poise, and projection, which will be tackled under the strict guidance of professionals.

Looking for the right tailor

Dear Lucy,

I am looking for someone who can make me dresses and tops. I have beautiful silk, satin, and brocade that I am too scared to entrust to a local designer for fear they will just butcher it. In my experience, the designs look good on paper, but the fit is terrible. In the process of making so many adjustments, the beautiful fabric just gets destroyed. It is so sad, and such a waste.

Can you recommend someone really talented who can make me beautiful clothes with clean workmanship?

I live in Canada but I’m planning to take a vacation in the Philippines a few months from now.

I’m an avid fan of yours and once, you mentioned the name and phone number of a lady who does permanent eyebrow home service. I kept her name and number, but I could not find it now. Would you still have this information in your file? I am thinking of having my eyebrows fixed.
