Speeding towards summer
MANILA, Philippines - Speedo recently unveiled its summer collection in a night of high summer fashion at White Space in Makati, featuring Speedo Originals, Aqua-Active and LZR Inspired.
Speedo rocked the ramp with its new and innovative pieces from the LZR-inspired range. Featuring distinct cuts from the world-renowned championship swimsuit — the Fastskin LZR Racer — this range will not only help swimmers reach their optimum performance but also ensure that they look stylish while doing so.
For those with a fitness lifestyle, Speedo introduced its brand-new Aqua Active line of swimwear. These pieces combine unique silhouettes incorporating the brand’s heritage, allowing the swimmer the freedom to work out with style and confidence. In continuous celebration of beach culture, Speedo models paraded the Originals collection with statement swimwear in bright, primary colors, fashionable bikinis and retro-inspired pieces in contrasting shades.
Rounding up the show was Speedo’s new line of suits for competitive swimming, which included the Speedo LZR Racer Elite and Speedo LZR Racer Pro, developed from the Fastskin LZR Racer suit; and finally, the FastSkin XT, which is exclusive to Asia. Worn by the Philippines’ top national and collegiate swimmers, led by 2009 SEA Games medalist and Speedo-sponsored Kendrick Lim Uy, the suits promise to be the most innovative in swimwear technology with updated forms and styles. The new generation of advanced textile swimsuits offers a unique combination of highly technical fabrics, design and construction for a smoother shape, reduced drag and greater flexibility — all within FINA’s new rules for 2010.
The Fastskin LZR Racer Elite has redefined swimwear and is the fastest, most advanced suit ever made for the water. As the world’s leading swimwear brand, Speedo is passionate about life in and around the water, supporting swimming from beginners through to the elite level, including the phenomenal Michael Phelps.
