Tod's revisits iconic designs and the Kennedy look

-

MANILA, Philippines - For its spring-summer 2010 collection, Tod’s revisits its own icons and adds contemporary twists. The brand’s understated and refined luxury is directed towards sophisticated fashionistas through hushed tones and elegant ambience.

For women, Tod’s reinterprets luxury in its spring-summer collection with the new D Bag as a bauletto or tote. The D Bag is an iconic Tod’s product that has retained the brand’s DNA while evolving through form and material. The D Bag is the result of an artisanal process with attention to fine detail, precious leather, contemporary design and functionality, making it a must-have for next season.

The G Bag is utilitarian, spacious and versatile. Chic and light, it is available in brushed calf and contrasting trim.

The collection is completed by a shopping tote with saddlery details in tan leather or the softest python in pastel hues and the brand’s must-have Pashmy bag in waterproof cotton for a more casual interpretation.

For shoes, the iconic Gommino gets a new twist with sailing details and bright colors. Together with the rubber-sole loafer and new sneaker, it is perfect for urban-casual weekdays or long weekends. High-heeled sandals in retro styling add a sophisticated and feminine touch to the new collection.

For its spring-summer men’s collection, Tod’s focuses on style and craftsmanship inspired by tradition and iconic products that make it truly “Made in Italy.”

Silhouettes are soft and styles simple and light. Symbolic elegance and essentially contemporary, the collection echoes the refined and chic atmosphere of the American East Coast of the 1950s and ‘60s — the Kennedy world of understated grace, illuminating and intelligent wit.

The Marlin Hyannisport boat moccasin was first launched in the 1980s and at the time represented a completely new way of interpreting the rubber sole. Revolutionary, it immediately became a must-have and much-imitated style. A classic that renews constantly, it is synonymous with style, quality and craftsmanship.

The Gommino evokes a certain elegance in the J.P. Loafer, with the classic coin in the toecap, sporty with two-toned tassels or formal with contrasting trim.

Sneakers in suede and with a rubber sole are perfect both for casual walks in the city or sailing weekends.

Tod’s has long been a favorite of Hollywood celebrities. This and in previous seasons, its collections have always been must-haves for celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Zhang Ziyi, Brad Pitt, Michelle Yeoh, Freida Pinto, Katherine Heigl and Kate Beckinsale, to name a few.

The brilliant Australian actress Nicole Kidman and Asian beauty Zhang Ziyi were both seen sporting a pair of sunglasses from Tod’s; Brad Pitt was seen carrying a Tod’s Pashmy travel bag in blue nylon as he arrived at the Tokyo airport; Michelle Yeoh was at the Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix in Monaco in a white trench coat; and Freida Pinto was seen carrying a D Bag Bauletto in blue leather.

Katherine Heigl carried the Girelli Pochette in copper snakeskin to the premier of her film The Ugly Truth, while Kate Beckinsale was with a Tod’s upper pochette in gray leather at the premiere of Everybody’s Fine.

Even royalty has been spotted using Tod’s. Queen Rania of Jordan was seen with a Tod’s Pashmy bag as she visited Saint Tropez.

In the Philippines, Tod’s shoes, bags, and accessories are exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and are available at the Tod’s boutique located in Greenbelt 4, Ayala Center, Makati and Rustan’s Tower.
