Pinoy jewelry rocks

MANILA, Philippines - The Amber Room on Bonifacio High Street in Taguig sparkled as PLDT-SME Nation and the Guild of Philippine Jewelers, Inc. (GPJI) launched the annual Jewelers Design Competition.

With the theme “Opposites Attract,” the event was attended by more than 70 guests including Philippine Ambassador to Germany Delia Albert.

The night was highlighted by a symbolic partnership toast of PLDT-SME Nation and GPJI officials.

Entrepreneurs and the who’s who in the jewelry industry got a firsthand look at some of PLDT-SME Nation’s business security solutions ideal for jewelry entrepreneurs.

“With the country’s creative minds and its bounty in precious stones and metals, there’s no doubt that the Philippines stands out when it comes to jewelry crafting. It’s an industry we should highly promote and safeguard,” says Kat Luna-Abelarde, PLDT-SME Nation vice president and head.

PLDT-SME Nation Community Consultancy head Gabby Cui said that GPJI entrepreneurs are sure to benefit from business solutions like the PLDT Watcher, PLDT-SME Nation’s surveillance and monitoring solution; and the PLDT FASTrack, a field tracking system for delivery agents.

“Business owners are assured of security with the newest technology for business,” Cui added.

The event was capped with a raffle draw where lucky winners took home Netbooks from the PLDT Negosyo Boost bundles, a PLDT-SME Nation business solution package for SMEs, and other valuable items.

Guests also marveled at the winning designs from last year’s jewelry design competition, which were on display.

“We’re happy that PLDT-SME Nation is supporting our programs in promoting the jewelry industry. With them as our partner in technology, we know this industry is in good hands,” says GPJI president Mia Faustmann.
