A new Republ1c rocks the south
MANILA, Philippines - Republ1c, the rookie in the streetwear and board sports retail industry, brings the hip and urban lifestyle of LA and New York to the south as it opened its flagship store at Westgate Center, Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang.
Republ1c grew from a one shop in La Fuerza Plaza, Makati a little over a year ago to six branches in strategic locations such as TriNoma Mall and Eastwood in Quezon City, D’mall in Boracay, and Westgate Center in Alabang.
The new store design, a mash-up of industrial and glam elements, emulates what the brand is all about: hip, funky, and pumping with adrenaline. The inspiration behind the brand is the skurban fashion that has become all the rage with the youth. Skurban fashion is the fusion of the board sports and the urban cultures.
Loyal Republ1cans can shop for new and exciting brands such as Married to the Mob, Alien Workshop, Habitat, Fourstar Clothing, and Starlet as well as new drops from Supra, KR3W, The Hundreds, RVCA, Burton, Altamont, Analog, Girl, Chocolate, and Skullcandy.
Alongside the opening of the flagship store, with over 50 brands of the best streetwear, wake and skate gear, headphones, and swimwear were exhibitions from top international wakeboard pro riders and a skate session by the Republ1c skate team. Pro Wake champions who flew in for the event were Nick Davies (UK), Shane Bonifay (USA), Phillip Soven (USA), Shawn Watson (USA), Kim Yong Il (Korea), and Reuben Buchanan (Australia). Republ1c’s skate team was represented by Ansey Flores, Jeno German, Marvin Bolisay, and Todd Tessier.
Open to the public, a portable wake pool was set up on Filinvest Avenue and the Republ1c portable skate park in the parking area for the entire weekend. Republ1cans witnessed the best of the best in wake and skate while having the chance to ride with the pros themselves.
The Republ1c Movement was not all about wake and skate — it was a celebration of the Republ1c lifestyle, the Republ1c way! DJ Dylan hosted the cocktail event with overflowing cocktails and food. Heart-thumping beats from DJ Euric and DJ Julio Sexy kept the Republ1cans dancing and grooving well into the wee hours. Channel V exclusively covered the event declaring the Republ1c flagship store the hippest, sickest, happening place to get your gear.
Republ1c has branches at La Fuerza Plaza, 2441 Don Chino Roces Ave., Makati City; third floor, TriNoma Mall; ground floor, Eastwood Citywalk 2; SWELL by Republ1c, second floor, Eastwood Mall; and D’Mall Boracay.
