Now roasting: Kenny's Open 2009 Urbanite Run
MANILA, Philippines - Everything is all set for the Kenny’s Open 2009 Urbanite Run. Be one of the first 3,000 registrants by signing in on or before the Tuesday, August 11 deadline so you’ll get a chance to run, eat, and donate your way to fitness.
This one-of-a-kind marathon will hit the streets of Bonifacio Global City, The Fort on Saturday, August 15. Registration is ongoing at all Kenny Rogers Roasters branches and at Kenny’s Roast and Grill at the Power Plant Mall.
Kenny Rogers Roasters, a true innovator in offering deliciously healthy dishes, will once again showcase its commitment to living a fit and active lifestyle through Kenny’s Open 2009 Urbanite Run. This will not be your usual marathon though. As its name suggests, it will happen in the evening, kicking off at 7 p.m. Running enthusiasts from 18 years old and up are enjoined to sign up. Cash and other cool consolation prizes will be given away to winners in the 5, 10 and 15 km. categories.
Kenny’s Open 2009 Urbanite Run will also be one of the first to use an advanced “timing chip” system to record each runner’s progress and distances of 5, 10 and 15 kilometers.
Upon registration, participants will be given their ticket for a chance to eat, run, and donate their way to health. The ticket includes the runner’s registration voucher, an “urbanite meal” (an irresistible and limited offer on the Kenny Rogers’ menu, redeemable until October 15), and a validation of each participant’s donation to Hands-On Manila Foundation and 57:75 Movement. Donations from the Urbanite Run “fund-racing” will be given to championing nutrition for kids. All these for only P600.
The fun, however, doesn’t end at the finish line, as the event will be capped off with a bang through live entertainment numbers by percussionists Tribo Manila, and a night of deliciously healthy eating courtesy of Kenny Rogers Roasters.
Claiming of race kits will be on August 13 and 14 from 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. only across Seattle’s Best Coffee and Nike Park on Bonifacio High Street.
More, as a special treat to all registered runners, Seattle’s Best Coffee (SBC) Bonifacio High street is throwing in a P50 discount on all purchases of SBC Javakula. This can be redeemed at SBC Boni High street only for the whole month of August starting August 14. Simply tear off the perforated bottom part of the runner’s bib where the SBC promo is announced and present this to SBC Bonifacio High Street to avail yourself of the P50 discount.
