Beauties and their bling
MANILA, Philippines - Pomellato jewels are talismans of allure and beauty, making any woman shine and any event a stellar affair.
The name Pomellato is celebrated all over Italy and the rest of the world for its remarkable artistry and craftsmanship. Handcrafted by Milanese artisans, each Pomellato piece represents the passion, devotion, artistry, and brilliance of master craftsmen.
Born in 1967, Pomellato changed the rules, succeeding in taking jewelry out of formal wear by making it sexy. It created new shapes and settings, using the finest gold and gemstones. Pomellato presented a new way of seeing and experiencing colors.
With its emphasis on personality over formality, Pomellato, creates pieces that exude a strong, seductive, exuberant attitude and character that bear close resemblance to the modern woman — strong, independent, successful, and stylish. Through this inherent affinity, Pomellato gained a strong following among women who embody a similar spirit and beauty.
These “Women of Pomellato” played a prominent part in helping various charities, particularly in initiating the Kabul Project, which achieved huge popularity in 1994. Beautiful Pomellato women Catherine Deneuve, Geraldine Chaplin, Veruschka, Claudia Cardinale, Isabella Rossellini, Salma Hayek, Monica Bellucci, and Sophia Loren, together with legendary designer Azzedine Alaïa and one of the most sought-after fashion and magazine photographers in the world, Michel Comte, helped raise money through an exhibit featuring these Pomellato women, who donated jewelry pieces in aid of building a Red Cross hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Now, after more than a decade, Vanafi, the Philippines’ premier jewelry chain and home to some of the world’s finest jewelry brands continues this tradition by gathering eight legendary Pomellato women in an exhibit entitled, “Women of Pomellato.” The exhibit featured stunning females led by Vanafi’s very own Vanessa Dulalia Figueroa, along with Aivee Aguilar-Teo, Cristina Guy-Sison, Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo, Marisol Teves-Ramirez, Monie Ybanez-Sy, Nena Marti-Elizalde, and Penny Velasco-Laperal. Launched recently at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, the exhibit is a celebration of refined elegance, class, and glamour.
The exhibit marked the opening of Vanafi’s flagship boutique at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. Vanafi pampered its 300 crème de la crème clients and guests with international food stations and wine as they took in the finest and rarest of jewels and the portraits of the eight women clad in Pomellato jewelry. The Pomellato women modeled different collections that embodied their lifestyles and personalities. Gemstones in different colors of the rainbow lit up decorated vitrines reminiscent of sugared candies and sweets. Taken by celebrated photographer Mark Nicdao, the portraits capture the true essence of Pomellato jewels and the women who wear them.
Pomellato is exclusively available at Vanafi branches in Shangri-La Plaza Mall, third level, EDSA corner Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City; and at the Edsa Shangri-La Plaza Hotel 1, Garden Way, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
