This seems to be the mantra of developers these days: “One can never have enough malls.” More and more shopping malls have been popping up in the past couple of years. And while other malls address the needs and wants of the masses, there are those that go for understated class and luxury shopping. The latter take a different approach — one that promises quality, luxury and beauty. Ultimately, it’s about the whole experience.
This is why premier developer Megaworld Corporation opened the most ambitious one of them all — Eastwood Mall — at the center of all the shopping centers and eating establishments in Eastwood City.
“We saw the need to create a mall that was different in terms of design and service offering,” Megaworld Commercial division head Kevin Tan explains.
With its modern, world-class interiors with spacious hallways and luxurious lounges for relaxation, one can tell right away that this is not a typical mall. Each store is given enough space to show the merchandise as well as the interiors. It not only has first-class brands on its roster, it also offers a full-scale concierge and personal butler service as well. The concierge is not just there to give directions to customers but mall representatives will actually take customers to the stores they are looking for.
There are also butlers on hand to help shoppers carry their shopping bags to their cars.
Although the newly opened Eastwood Mall will be fully completed in January, shoppers can already get a taste of what’s to come. The first batch of the 200 shops is already in full swing. On the first floor, among those that are already open are Nine West, Steve Madden, Beauty Bar, Jessica, The Body Shop, Marlboro Classics; on the second level, Bench and HerBench, Kashieca, Human, Folded and Hung, Celine, Penshoppe, Maldita and more. On the third floor are the children’s clothing and lifestyle stores that include Toytown, Florsheim kids, Periwinkle, Osh Kosh and Gymboree.
In the following months Eastwood Mall will be unveiling more stores.
By the second week of January, the first Ultra cinema will be operational. A few years ago Eastwood Cinemas was the first to introduce the couple seats. It has taken it a step higher with the Philippines’ first twin-seater La-Z-Boy couch in a movie theater. Perfect for cozy couples, indeed.
Some of the dining restaurants will also be open before Christmas as well, filling up the fine-dining row surrounding the Central Park and its lagoon.
Mac aficionados will have a big reason to flock to Eastwood City come January — the largest Apple store in Asia will open in Eastwood Mall fronting the lagoon. For luxury shopping enthusiasts, the first Store Specialists’ Giant-store, which features 15 luxury brands all in one spacious setting, will open next month also.
