Something glittery for the holidays and flowery for New Year's Eve
Dear Lucy,
What is a good brand of cream eyeliner? The one I’m currently using is quite challenging to use. I find that it does not glide on very smoothly. Also, where can I find glittery liquid eyeliner?
For our New Year’s Eve party, I consulted a feng shui expert and she said that for my sign, I need to wear floral accessories to usher in the new year in a lucky way. Where can I get floral accessories?
Eula
I urge you to try the Aqua Creamliner from Make Up For Ever. It comes in different shades and is very easy to use, even for non-pros like us. I am having so much fun with the blue shade (no. 4) I am using nowadays. Make Up For Ever is available in leading department stores.
For the glittery liquid liner you want, get the one from Art Deco under their Glam Stars line. It has a gel texture so not only is it easy to apply, it also lasts long. Art Deco is available at Essenses and Watsons.
As for floral accessories, if you want to go the fine jewelry route, go to Jul B. Dizon. Chances are you will find beautiful jewelry there in the shape of lovely flowers. If you want fashion jewelry, go to Evita Peroni. Last month, they launched a limited and exclusive six-piece anniversary collection featuring satin gold flowers, accented with specially colored cubic zirconia. It is very pretty, definitely worth checking out. Evita Peroni is available in leading department stores.

How To Get A Tan Without The Sun
Hi, Rissa!
Hola from the Caribbean! I am fond of reading your articles here, I always take note of your advice. I live in Punta Cana and I love sunbaking, but my question is what face bronzer do you recommend? Thanks for featuring this Collezione, I’m checking it now in FB ... the only thing I have is the Bayo shirt “Proud to be Filipino” that shows off our Pinoy pride! Now this Collezione is way cool, because it’s got our very own map on it. Can’t wait to go home! I’m looking forward to your advice. Thanks a million!
Namaste, Hey D
Beautiful tanned skin makes any girl look slimmer and nothing can compare to that sexy glow a tan gives off. But spare your skin from the harmful UV rays and go for sunless tanning. The best product that comes to mind is Model Co. Tan Airbrush in a Can (available at Beauty Bar; check out www.modelco.com.au for store locations worldwide). I’ve tried it before — it’s non-greasy, it smells great, and is so easy to use. You can use it for both the face and the body. It simply sprays on like a fine mist, giving a smooth, even tan (no streaks and patches, no uneven tanning). This is the same product responsible for the tanned and glowing bodies at the Victoria’s Secret shows.
For your face, you can also try MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in the shade Dark. I love it because when I get a tan after a trip from the beach, I add this wonder product to my regular makeup routine. With a powder brush, I lightly dust and blend it on the areas of my face which are naturally hit by the sun (like the cheeks, forehead, chin, etc.) It gives a great glowing color that enhances my tan. Plus, it takes out the need to buy a new shade of foundation.
Another favorite is Laura Mercier Sun Dust Loose Setting Powder (locally available at Rustan’s Essenses). This product gives a wonderful luminous tan color. A little goes a long way! Dust it on your face to highlight your tan and on your collarbones and shoulders for a sexy summer glow all year round.

RX For Varicose Veins
Dear Ms. Tingting,
I’m only 25 years old, but I have varicose veins already and it really makes me so insecure. I want to wear miniskirts because I have long legs with a nice shape, too (modesty aside). But how can I? Could you tell me how to get rid of my varicose veins?
Farah
A dermatologist from California, Mitchel P. Goldman, MD estimates that by the age of 21, 30 percent of the population already has spider or varicose veins. Unfortunately, getting rid of them is not a 10-minute procedure. It can last 40 minutes to one hour. Sclerotherapy injections make vein walls disintegrate. You will have to wear support stockings for a few days. Another method is the Endoluminal laser, which uses pulses of light to heat and coagulate the walls of large veins, allowing them to be reabsorbed — this takes 45 minutes and is followed by about a week of slight bruising.
I go to Dr. Victor Gisbert at the Makati Medical Center for schlerotherapy injections. He is a specialist in peripheral, vascular, and trauma surgery.
