Laud and clear
The colors were vibrant, bold and warm when Get Laud recently launched its holiday 2008 collection, paying tribute to the contemporary female. For a few hours, the Activity Center of Market! Market! in the Fort became a venue for women to experience fashion, beauty and music.
Celebrity endorser Roxanne Guinoo dazzled the crowd when she emerged from the plain gray curtain wearing a glitzy halter mini-dress that enhanced her natural curves. She was followed by models wearing Get Laud’s holiday collection. Roxanne also capped the show with a maxi dress bearing eclectic prints and shades of violet, black and pink. The dress flattered the young actress’s petite build and added inches to her medium height.
Vivid shades of purple, orange, yellow, pink, green and red were predominant in the entire dress collection, which came in solid hues and prints. Floral accents, graphic prints, crisp lines and bold patterns were used to make the wearer stand out. The collection yielded daring designs of multi-colored dresses, layered strapless mini-dresses, and metallic pieces. They also added a new batch of shorts, leotards, and jerseys for day-and-night ensembles and different occasions, all designed to enhance the female form without looking overworked. Amid the parade of colors, basic hues of black and white were not forgotten with flowing dresses in minimal monochrome.
The overall theme of the collection is flirty and audacious, inspired by bohemian flair but with a touch of sophistication. Every article is a testament to Get Laud’s philosophy: to accentuate women’s bodies of every size and shape by creating stylish, comfortable and affordable items aimed at catering to women’s different roles in the family, society and the workplace.
Frenchie Dy and Apple Chiu, Get Laud’s resident belters from ABS-CBN’s hit show Singing Bee, made a powerful presentation by performing select melodies to represent a particular batch of clothes. They also donned Get Laud apparel, Frenchie in a black top and leotard while Apple highlighted her curves in a blue ensemble. Both women currently wear Get Laud on Singing Bee. As a treat to the throngs of women who attended the event, beauty booths and fashion consultants gave free makeovers to early birds as well as discounted prices on Get Laud, Zen Zest, Chic Chick and Leaveland items. Former model, image consultant and top makeup artist Abbygale Arenas-de Leon conducted a free lecture on proper makeup application and different styling needs. Lucky makeover winners were treated to a full makeover by Arenas herself, along with designer ands stylist Rumples Estacio and the artists from Mary Pauline Salon.
The 2008 holiday collection is now available at over 30 outlets of Get Laud nationwide, including Market! Market!, Alabang Town Center, Robinsons Metro East, NCCC Mall of Davao, St. Lucia East, as well as most SM Malls. For the latest news, events and forum, visit www.getlaud.com.ph.
