Prom here to posterity: How to look good in your prom photos
Dear Rissa,
We are having our prom after the Holy Week. We’re having our photos taken at the prom, you know the usual shot with the prom date. What is the correct way to stand, sit or face the camera? Also, what facial and body angles are most flattering? I get very conscious in front of a camera and especially now that I’ll be with a date! Please give me tips.

Whenever I have a photo shoot, I always avoid squishing any body parts because they can make your arms, thighs, and calves look fat. Slouching can also bunch up that tummy so always remember to observe proper posture. Your better angle is simply the side of your face which photographs best. Before your prom, study yourself in the mirror. Even take pictures with your digital camera. Be vain. You have the license to be so in the privacy of your own home. Every inch you tilt your head — towards the left, right, up or down — can make a whole world of difference. Finding your best angle is a great tool to helping you accentuate your assets and downplay your flaws. If your ears stick out, avoid facing straight to the camera and choose to angle sideways. I have a dimple on my left cheek and I’d always favor smiling, showing off my left cheek. Unless you’re getting crowned as a beauty queen, there’s no need to stand and pose like one. I’ve seen so many pictures of friends during nights out or beach trips in a beauty queen pose, which sometimes looks so stiff and inappropriate. As long as you keep proper posture in mind and you’re standing or sitting in a natural and relaxed manner, you’ll look great. Anything that feels uncomfortable will surely look uncomfortable. Lastly, don’t forget to smile. The best kind is a sincere one. My mom always tells me to think of happy thoughts. The worst smile is a forced one. A smile has to look genuine — the kind that when others see it, it will make them smile too. Good luck!

Scents That Make Sense
Dear Lucy,
For the longest time, I was partial to fruity scents, but of late, I am really starting to be drawn into floral scents. Do you know of any scent that has both elements? And how do I make the scent last longer?
My daughter will also have her debut soon and I was wondering what she can have for the participants of her birthday program. Her favorite color is pink.
Nini
I think you will be very happy with Estee Lauder’s Pleasures Delight. It is a delightful twist to the original Pleasures Classic and its floral concoction is now blended with notes of juicy pomegranate, whipped strawberry meringue, and tempting caramel with a sprinkling of sugared rose petals, marshmallows, vanilla, white peony, and fresh greens. It is so delightful you almost forget it is not edible. To make the scent last longer, you just have to layer it, meaning you use bath products with the same scent. Luckily, Pleasures Delight also comes in a shower gel and a body lotion variant. You will smell just beautiful. Pleasures Delight is available at Rustan’s
As for your daughter’s debut, may I suggest giving journals to the girls as a token gift? You can choose pink ones — with the wonderful bookstores we have here, you should have no problem finding pretty ones. If you are feeling generous, you can add a book on style and elegance plus you can also throw in some scents. I have three variants under Bench named Love, Remember, and Forever. Personally, my favorite is Remember, but the other two scents are fast sellers. The price is very affordable and the packaging is very pretty. They make nice presents. They’re available at all Bench stores.

Buying A Bra That Fits To A T
Dear Tingting,
I would appreciate it very much if you could give me ideas on how to buy a bra that fits right.
Anna Leah
The easiest way to find out what bra size you are is to be measured by a salesperson. If you are shy, you can measure yourself at home and hit the store like an expert. You may consider how
