Street style: Men in jackets

Inspired by The Sartorialist on the Internet (http://thesartorialist.blog spot.com), I started to take pictures of stylish people all over Manila.

Of course, since this is the Third World, if I can spot maybe two to four cool people out of a hundred, then I’m lucky.

If there’s an event, it’s easy to approach subjects for a picture.

Otherwise I need to be introduced or gather enough guts to speak to strangers about having their picture taken.

What I noticed since I started doing this is that guys in Manila generally look more interesting than the girls, who have the same generic look and hairstyle.

Since I grew up in the New Wave ’80s, I’m quite used to seeing guys accessorize and do strange things with their hair.

But these days it’s just about normal for a guy to have standing or colored hair. It’s no longer weird.

Since the rainy season is back, out come the jackets in all forms and colors.

I caught a few men recently wearing all sorts of jackets in hoodies, blazers, knits and denims to complement hip T-shirts or plain white shirts with jeans and sneakers.
