Wanted: Help for kargador hands
May 24, 2006 | 12:00am
DEAR MARY,
I have big veins in my hands, which are quite unsightly. How can I make these veins go away? Please help me cure my kargador hands as its not flattering for a lady to have such hands.
Kargador Hands
The veins in our hands are a giveaway of our age they become more pronounced as we grow older, probably due to the atrophy of the soft tissue in our hands. This can be remedied through microsurgical excision under local anesthesia, like removing bulging leg veins. Or one can opt for injection sclerotherapy to shrink the veins or make them disappear. Sclerotherapy is a specialized treatment offered by Australias vein treatment corporation Lauren, which is now available in the Philippines. With more than 10 years of experience gained from treating thousands of patients in Australia and Asia, Lauren ensures all your veins, no matter what their size, will disappear safely minus surgery. Lauren Vein Centre is located on the fourth floor, Angelus Plaza Bldg., 104 Vicente Rufino St., Legaspi Village, Makati with tel. nos. 893-9771 and 894-2361.

Hi, Lucy!
Where can we avail of the strap that is placed around the waist to quickly revert to ones original waistline, that is, before pregnancy?
Husband
My mom bought a binder for me at a medical supply store in Megamall. Unfortunately, she no longer remembers the name of the store or the exact location. What I do know for sure is that it was not one of those blue rubber things that are sold in fitness stores. This one was made of a stiffer material and did not stretch as much. But it really worked. I wore it as much as I could and stopped wearing it only when I was back to my old figure.

Dear Tingting,
My underarms are like chicken skin. I cant wear sleeveless clothes. Help! Helen
First, you will have to stop plucking your underarms, which is partly the cause of the chicken skin. Procedures like LHE (light heat energy), which is used for hair removal and face rejuvenation, have resulted in a marked improvement of "chicken skin" armpits.
