Makeup thats berry flattering for morena skin
May 25, 2005 | 12:00am
Dear Lucy,
I read your April 20 column regarding your personal choices of lipsticks. I know that you, Tingting, and Mary are fair. I was wondering if you could suggest the right color of lipstick and blush-on for brown Filipina skin. Ann
I asked two of my favorite makeup artists to recommend their favorites. Both Juan Sarte and Chechel Joson agree that morena skin will make a flattering canvas for shades ranging from the nudes to light and dark brown, olive, even berry! Chechel, in particular, has a penchant for mixing three shades minimum. Her top picks consist of warm colors with orange undertones to lift and give glow to the face. She suggests staying away from deep browns that can make you look mature and tired. Her choices, as listed below, will give you a fresh and clean glow:
Lancome Juicy Rouge 365, 156, and 139
Lancome Juicy Tubes in Bolole
Inuovi lipgloss in bronze
mac lipglass in Oh Baby
Bobbi Brown lipstick in Bronze Shimmer
LOccitane lipstick in Agathe Juan Sarte, who is known for the fresh, clean way he makes up faces, recommends the folowing:
Clinique glosswear in Black Honey
Avon Ultra Color Rich Renewable Lipstick in Sheer Spice
Inuovi gloss in mocca
mac lipglass in Revealing shade
Enjoy these pretty shades on your lips! Lucy
>Hi Tingting!
Is Cebo de Macho really effective for removing unwanted wound marks or scratches? Could you please recommend some cheap ointment or cream that I can use? Angel
Cebo de Macho does not really have any effect on scars. Depending on what the scar looks like, there are a lot of options to choose from to treat them. You really have to see a dermatologist for an evaluation. For reddish scars, lasers are recommended. For dark scars, try a whitening cream. For thickened or hypertrophic scars, there are other treatment regimens or theres Cica-Care plaster. For keloids, recommended are topical medications like Mederma and Contracubex plus steroid Kenacort injections. Tingting
Dear Mary,
I just wanna ask for advice regarding the ugly scars on my legs. I have tried many expensive products, but nothing worked. I want to wear shorts and mini-skirts, but Im so ashamed because of these ugly scars. Sweet Girl
There many creams and lotions that claim to remove scars, but as you have seen, they dont produce any results. Go to a dermatologist. Its a little more expensive than creams, but its worth it. We recommend Dr. Sylvia Jacinto who holds clinic at 1311 Batangas City, Makati with tel. no. 894-3952. There are many new products/devices on the market now, and Im sure something can be done for your scars. Mary
