Underarm prom jitters

I’m 16 years old and our prom is only a month away. My problem is I have dark underarms. How can I whiten my underarms just in time for my prom? Thank you so much.

You will really have to go to a skincare clinic or a beauty salon to check out your bleaching options. Also, make sure you are not allergic to the deodorant you are using because deodorants do contribute to dark underarms. Avoid shaving and opt for waxing or plucking instead. Try to address the problem as soon as you can because if you go for bleaching, the whole treatment process will require several sessions. It will not work in just one go.

Tampons And Virginity

HI MS. MARY!

I’m a sanitary pad user and most of the time, I have problems using a pad. My period is often heavy and I’ve observed that my pad would always get squeezed in the middle rather than stay flat and in place. I would also have stains on my clothes. I was wondering if tampons would be a better option as I always see scenes from the movies with American teenagers using tampons. I recently saw a pack of tampons at a supermarket, but did not get it ’coz I don’t know how to use it. I am single and in my 20s. My question is: Does the tampon really have to be inserted inside the vagina? Will using a tampon make me lose my virginity? I also heard that tampons were once rejected in Germany by women. Now, they even swim with it. I hope you could enlighten me on how to use tampons and how safe they are.

Most young people today do use tampons – it is the way to be more comfortable and safe from staining your clothes. Yes, the tampon must be inserted in your vagina, but it will not cause you to lose your virginity. And yes, on your light days, you can go swimming wearing a tampon, it is very safe.

Rx For Falling Hair

I have falling hair. Recently, I chanced upon this new shampoo called Lauat and it claims to be an anti-falling hair product. I’ve heard of lauat being mentioned alongside gugo. Can you tell me more about lauat? What other anti-falling hair products can I try? I’ve also heard of a Kerastase serum for the prevention of hair loss. Is it effective?

I haven’t heard of Lauat. What’s effective in preventing falling hair is the Phyto line of shampoos, available at Rustan’s Essenses. Kerastase is another anti-falling hair shampoo. You may also try Minoxidil sold at Mercury drug stores and by dermatologists.
