Handy help for flabby arms
October 8, 2003 | 12:00am
Dear Mary,
I have a fairly good figure and my face is not so bad, but my arms are my downfall theyre wrinkled and my upper arms are flabby. Im 62 years old. What can I do?
Yoly
Its a little bit too late to be able to turn back the hands of time. However, to prevent further deterioration, moisturize your whole arms, including hands, twice daily. Wash them with warm water, then moisturize. For the flab, rotate your arms in small circles, 50 times forward and 50 times backwards, also twice a day. This will help minimize the flab.

Dear Tingting
Im 40 years old and this is the first time Id be traveling to the United States. Id like to ask your advice on what to wear for my travel, starting from the flight. Im going first to San Francisco, then LA and then Toronto, Canada. Im 51 and weigh around 107 lbs. My friends say I can still get away with wearing my 21-year-old daughters clothes.

You want to look young all the way? Wear blue jeans, a T-shirt, sweater or a jacket. Or else, black trousers or a black shift that doesnt go high up to your thighs when you sit. Match it with a top in the basic style.

Dear Lucy,
Ill be having my first VTR soon for modeling. What type of clothes should I wear? Im quite tall, 56," should I wear heels? How about makeup? I want to impress everybody. Please give me tips.

According to Juan Sarte, who used to be a talent caster long before he became the in-demand makeup artist that he is now, you simply have to dress the part and with that in mind, choose an outfit that is flattering to your body type from all angles. If you have nice shoulders, show them off with halter, tube and sleeveless tops. If youre blessed with nice legs, wear a tastefully short skirt or shorts. Once again, I reiterate, dress the part. Know the role that they are casting for. Some talents in their mid-20s can very well still pass for teenagers with the right makeup, hairstyle and clothes. The reverse is true as well.
Good luck!

Hi Tingting!
My name is Marie and Id like to get some info on how to add artificial length to ones hair. I read an article about one actress who had her hair done this way. My hair takes forever to grow; I will be attending my 15th high school reunion in a couple of months and I thought Id enhance my look by giving my hair some extra length. How does it work and which are the best places to go for this?
Lila
This is called hair extension and it costs up to P25,000. A thin rubber band is attached to your hair thats attached to the long hair. One bundle of hair can cost from P127 to P500. You can shampoo, brush, comb your hair and even sleep with it. Expensive, isnt it? Nevertheless, Bergmann does that.
