Are tube tops strictly for the young?

Dear Mary,
Im 62 and slim, and would like to wear a tube top with pants. But my niece says tube tops are strictly for young people. Is this so? Am I trying too hard?

Perhaps a tube top would look nice on the beach with shorts. But not for going around the city. If you must use a tube top, wear a little shawl or jacket over it.
There is nothing wrong in trying to look good.

Hi Lucy!
My daughter is looking for a perfect gown for her debut next year and she really admires the pink gown you wore to Yilmaz and Ruffas wedding. I was supposed to approach you during that affair to commend your dress, but we went home early to get ready for my flight to Melbourne the following day. It was indeed an elegant dress. She really wants to have that kind of gown on her big day next year. Everything is set except for the gown. We are flying this Christmas to New York to check out Vera Wangs latest creations for debutants. By the way, who made that gown? Kindly give me the designers contact numbers. Hope to meet you in the next parties!

Not only was the gown beautiful, it was also very comfortable! That gown will always be one of my favorites. It was designed and made by Joe Salazar, who is a master in his own right. All the gowns that he has made for me always fit beautifully. Why dont you drop by his atelier and meet him? Im sure he can come up with a beautiful gown for your daughters debut. His shop is located at 1850 Dr. Vasquez St., Malate, Manila with tel. nos. 523-2970 and 525-7366.

Dear Tingting,
Im preparing for my wedding set on December 2004. I just noticed that most lady sponsors or ninangs wear different types of gowns during weddings. For my wedding, I want to have my whole entourage, including the ninangs, wearing a uniform attire. I already know what gown my five ninangs will be wearing. I saw a simple long-sleeve orange evening gown accented with yellow and green cystals from Bill Blass. This gown will surely match with the tuxedos of my ninongs. On the other hand, my whole entourage will wear apple green strapless gowns and black tuxedos designed by Filipino-Australian designer Georgina Adorador-Stewarts who will also be creating my 10-meter long princess cut gown.
Is it OK for them to be wearing uniform attire? Thanks.
Marga
When you say uniform Id like to think you mean the same color and style. Its nice to see the sponsors wearing the same color of dress which is coordinated with the color scheme of the wedding. Some ninangs may be on the heavy side and some may be thin, so dress styles may vary. Thats alright. You can also vary the colors from darker to lighter shades as long as the colors blend.
Some even prefer a combination of colors like purple and pink, peach and aqua, to name a few. The bride should tell the sponsors which colors she prefers them to wear. The godparents can choose their own colors and styles.
