Summer’s verdict: Resort to luxury

The heat is on and the temperature rises along with the hemlines! The chic meter follows by measure of scant. However, just because it’s the season of tousled hair and sun-kissed skin doesn’t mean you have to let go of your glam gadgets.

We can have cocktails at sunset, have dinners in bikinis and pass the days tanning, while engaging in witty banter and body watching. It’s just natural for such a naughty season to carry a flirtatious tone in its way of dress.

Itsie-Bitsie recently launched its summer ’03 collection called Paradise Pretty, comprising of unexpected and fresh new ideas to enchant everyone this season. From great little minis to neon elegance to tropical glam – Itsie-Bitsie brings it all to our humble shores.

Only a little over a year since its opening, the store has garnered respect among the smart set for the impressive variety of lines that it carries. From my personal favorites such as Zimmermann swimwear to Paper Denim & Cloth to Sass and Bide to the exclusive Sophie Kyron accessory line to Bettina Liano – Itsie-Bitsie gets big on fashion. Recently, Itsie-Bitsie brought in Habitual jeans which, by the way, are the new "it" jeans (really hard to keep up in the denim race these days!) for their killer cut and ability to create perfect buns. Joie has also joined in the family and is a favorite among the international celebrity set. Calypso and Tocca add a romantic spice to the variety with their unapologetic feminine styles and unforgettable prints. The scents and candles are also to die for! Among the others are Bachata, Balamani, Bonds, Buzz, Catherine Malandrino, Jill Stuart, Kitten, Letarte, Lisa Ho, Michael Stars, Marcs Baby Doll, Muriel Brandolini, Shina Joy, Three Dots, Tigerlily, Velvet and Wayne Cooper.

Itsie-Bitsie sees summer as naughty but nice as they present styles that are not overtly sexual but indeed give the eye something sweet to lay upon. It’s elegant without being uptight, spirited without being anarchic. The face of summer has the same personality as the fashion. It’s fresh, with splashes of color and polished with gloss. For the show, Xeng Zulueta of Shue Uemura did the beauty forecast on the models. She tinted the models’ faces with tangerines, yellows and the natural hues of sunset.

So for the leisure class, be sure to pack up some L’Occitane tanning oil and follow the sun in style!
