The newest watches to watch for are those that look somewhere between a ribbon and a bracelet. And between a watchmakers masterpiece and rare jewelry.
Such are the gems that come out from a company that is renowned for making both watches and jewelry.
"Our newest line of timepieces is really something worth watching and waiting for," says Fabrice Poch, Far East export director of Cartier. "We are launching these new watches in October at Rustans," says Poch.
"These watches come in designs that are totally new, they dont look like any other brand," asserts Christophe Daine, Cartiers area manager. "When launching new designs, Cartier comes out the first, or not at all."
Cartiers Lanieres collection uses links of yellow, white or pink gold. Cartier uses these links in pairs or trios around design forms, like those of the Mini Tonneau, Tank Allongee or hexagonal watches.
The Divan watch looks timeless and luxurious with its diamonds. A steel version with automatic movement looks equally classic.
Cartiers latest jewelry line, Daine assures, will be something truly precious. "After all, its our jewelry and our timepieces which have established Cartiers leadership in this business, even while we are also proud of our leatherwares."
The Hong Kong-based Cartier executives were in town to finalize details for their October 18 launch in Manila, which will take place a week ahead of other Asian cities.
"Yes, we are confident that after the Asian flu, business is really booming once again in Asia, particularly in Manila. We foresee nonstop progress now," they smile. Now that is something we all want to watch for.
