A cool scent for summer

my LIPS are SEALED… sometimes… - Maurice Arcache -
Kenzo, that renowned name in fashion, dahlings, introduced a super cool marine fragrance for men called Kenzo Pour Homme.

Kenzo Pour Homme is a fresh fragrance built around the theme of cool blue waters. It evokes a breath of fresh air, palanggas, with its marine notes blending with floral sprays. Kenzo Pour Homme is bottled in a frosted glass that appears worn by the sea.

The cool scent, palanggas, was launched in an equally cool presentation at the poolside of The Fort’s Essensa. The presentation was oh-so-brief that it left many asking, "Is that it?"

Ten of Manille’s most gorgeous machos were presented as The Kenzo Men – Gutsy Tuason, Manille’s numero uno underwater photographer; Jojo Silverio, the Philippines’ numero uno car racer; Javi Berenguer, the travel business’ man of style; Manolet Dario, the original DJ Master himself; popular sportsman and basketball star Vince Hizon; super good-looking commercial model and writer for The Philippine STAR’s Young Star, Marco Lobregat, natch; well-liked businessman, sportsman and bar owner Anton Gonzales; MEGA fashion awardee for Model of the Year Paolo Relucio; and identical twins, Aye and Ome Nuguid, physicians with impeccable taste.

The cool breeze, soothing music and Gaita Fores’ sumptuous cocktails made the affair a perfect chill-out party.

Check out Kenzo Pour Homme, palanggas. It’s great for hot summer days or nights whether you’re in the city or the beach. The scent is exclusively distributed by Rustan Marketing Corp.
Baby David J. makes three
Just two weeks before she gave birth to a bouncing, cutie-pie baby boy named David Joshua, and despite her hectic schedule, dahlings, blooming mother-to-be Karen Davila found time for a baby shower which her gang had long wanted to give her.

Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez gathered over 20 of their groupie from Colegio de San Agustin; their Bible Study group; and the media (mostly from GMA 7) at her beautiful home in Makati to fete Karen. The menu catered by Patio Victoria, Cristina’s resto in Intramuros, was so good. The hen-and-rooster party was made even more of a riot by funny Garlic Garcia who was a revelation because of her hosting skills.

There were two fun games, palanggas. The first involved measuring Karen’s tummy with tissue paper while the other involved the guys in a contest to see who could gobble up orange juice with a feeding bottle the fastest. This feat almost took forever, palanggas, because of the super-slow flow through the bottles’ nipples!

The games had everyone in stitches, palanggas, especially Karen’s former classmates like downtown Manille’s popular Councilor Kim Atienza who proudly introduced his radiant bride-to-be, exotic eye-catcher with the four B’s Felicia Huang; Thania Amper; The Probe Team’s jetsetting palangga of ours Che Che Lazaro; Sari Koh; swimming champion Akiko Thompson; Philippine STAR’s popular society columnist, Mons Tantoco; good-looking Paolo Bediones; Michelle Arville with her adorable son Alessi; pretty, pretty Courtney Camcam; Jang Barrios; Julie Fernandez; and naturellement, Karen’s better half, fun DJ Sta. Ana in a huddle with former Leyte Rep. Alfred Romualdez (probably to get tips on fatherhood).

It was definitely a fun-filled afternoon, palanggas, with all the gang wishing Karen and DJ all the best! Baby David now makes them a happy family of three.
Welcoming the Year of the Water Horse
The jumping Heritage Hotel Manila welcomed the Year of the Water Horse with the must lion dance at the lobby and the tossing of the Yu Sheng salad at the Heritage Ballroom.

The hotel’s ballroom, corridors and walls were adorned with traditional Chinese red lanterns and fortune sticks. The excited invitees beheld a gigantic lantern at the entrance.

Since the Chinese usually celebrate the New Year with a feast for good luck, tossing the yu sheng or lo hei is a tradition usually celebrated on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year or ren ri which literally means "people’s day" or "everyone’s birthday." The symbolic ingredients of the Yu Sheng yummy salad is composed of peanuts (symbolic of eternal youth), fish (for abundance), and pomelo (representing good luck).

At the same time, palanggas, a selection of hot items – dimsum, barbecued combinations, and dessert menus – delighted everyone.

Dried oysters in the Braised Dried Oyster with Black Sea Moss was prepared to wish everyone a blessed happening while the sea moss was for prosperity. The pork knuckle of the Braised Pork Knuckles with Mushroom, meanwhile, conveyed plenty of money.

Welcoming the VIPs were Grand Plaza Hotel Corp. GM Yam Kit Sung; THHM assistant GM Ho Mei Mei; marketing director Maricor Aquino; top-of-the-line marketing communications manager Joy Manankil-Gonzales; sales director Corinne Zablan; F&B promotions manager, workaholic Geena Zablan; assistant sales director Rhea Bombina; and senior sales manager Lissa Justo; plus the hotel’s other rah! rah! team, palanggas.

Clearly having their fill of the superbly prepared food were Pathfinder Holdings Inc.’s Arlene de Guzman; lawyer Mia Gentugaya of Sycip, Salazar, Hernandez and Gatmaitan Law Office; lawyer Naty Kwan of Quisumbing, Torres Law Firm; lawyer Bonifacio Alentajan; NBI’s Lt. Gen. Reynaldo Wycoco; La Perla Biscuits’ Manuel Fong Sr.; Embassy of Singapore’s Col. Robert and Julia Tan; Paqui and Lilibeth Campos; Rica Thio and steady escort Emilio Tuason; Carminia Pavia; Boy Saulog; Oskar Atendido; plus others like them who just love Chinese food, palanggas.

All smiles and completely satisfied over the successful happening were the event’s organized, hardworking committee members: Makati City Museum and Cultural Affairs officers, super dedicated Southern lady, our palangga, Lingling Cervantes; Ayala Center advertising and promotions, cyber-smart Cathy Bengzon; and the four participating hotels’ PR assets, beauty and brains and fashionable working gals Jennifer Peña; Charisse Chuidian; Monique Toda; and Joy Wassmer.
