MANILA, Philippines — Manila Marriott, in partnership with Pristine Solutions and along with other top hotels, suppliers, retailers, government and non-government organizations and educational institutions joined hands to mark Philippine Sustainability Month. The nationwide campaign, staged at the Marriott grand ballroom last Aug. 28, gathered guests from Manila’s high society, local media, celebrities and stakeholders from various industries. The gathering showcased the various initiatives of each organization on how to further raise awareness on sustainability and at the same time strengthen responsible food sourcing—which in turn aims to transform businesses and impact livelihoods.

The Well-Appointed Life auctions @ The Pen
The Well-Appointed Life auctions, the longest-running auction event in the country by Salcedo Auctions, officially opened with a special cocktail preview at the Conservatory of the Peninsula Manila last Sept. 12.
The core of The Well-Appointed Life is the two-day auction weekend that was held at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula. Comprised of four auction categories: Important Philippine Art, Connoisseur Collection, Fine Jewelry & Timepieces and Rare Automobiles, it is a premium venue to acquire beautiful, rare or historically important pieces from around the country. This year’s major highlight is Félix Resurrección Hidalgo’s La Pintura from c. 1890s, which was exhibited and photographed as part of Sala XIII: Sala de Filipinas at the 1893 Exposición Histórico-Natural y Etnográfica.
Another highlight of the evening was the launch of Salcedo Auctions’ new website with updated log-in and auction-related features as well as a new lifestyle section dedicated to the ins and outs of living a truly well-appointed life.
