MANILA, Philippines — The French National Day, also called Bastille Day, was celebrated last July 14 at a reception hosted by French Ambassador Nicolas Galey and his wife Camélia at their residence. The reception gathered members of government, the diplomatic and consular corps, the private sector, media and the embassy’s partners in the cultural, scientific, and educational sectors to a an evening of French cuisine, music, and camaraderie.
Nigerian Ambassador Adekunbi Abibat Sonaike-Ayodeji, Madam Camélia Galey, French Ambassador Nicolas Galey and Spanish deputy head of mission Carmela Barcia Bustelo.
In his speech, Ambassador Galey hailed Franco-Philippine cooperation in the areas of climate change, security, tourism and trade, while expressing his will to continue intensifying and expanding the relations between the two countries. He also expressed gratitude to the many major Philippine and French companies whose support highly contributed to the success of the event.
