Makati Shangri-La, Manila’s Throwback party

MANILA, Philippines — Makati Shangri-La, Manila celebrated their 25th anniversary with Throwback, an appreciation party in honor of their Golden Circle members, Magnum, and the media by taking them on a journey to the past to relive its glorious early years last May 25, at the Rizal Ballroom.

Guests were able to party like it’s the ’90s as Rizal Ballroom was transformed into Zu, the hotel’s then popular club, with a huge round bar welcoming guests with drinks upon arrival, an LED dance floor and Zu’s iconic party animals.

Pumping up the crowd were hosts Tim Yap and Apples Aberin, popular figures in the ’90s nightclub scene. They introduced performances by The Authority Band led by Juan Miguel Salvador, DJ Boyet Sison and even throwback performances by impersonators of ’90s pop icons namely: Boy George, Madonna, Tina Turner and Michael Jackson.

Guests were also able to have a taste of the hotel’s best restaurants back in the ’90s with booth set-ups from: Salathip, Ibarra’s, Cheval Blanc and Island Café.
