MANILA, Philippines — On Dec. 17, Museo Pambata (MP) marked its 23rd anniversary by giving underprivileged kids of Manila an early Christmas treat – a gift-giving activity led by Museo president Dr. Nina Yuson with museum sponsors and donors.
Museo Pambata opened to the public four days before Christmas in 1994, so it has been a tradition to celebrate this most special time of the year along with the museum’s anniversary.
Children from various Manila Barangay’s were all smiles upon receiving their Christmas gift packages.
The double bash on that day was the merriest yet, as 800 children from various children’s centers and Manila barangays filled up the museum to watch live shows and receive Christmas gift packages. Museo Pambata’s Old Manila room was alive with performances by the Minstrels Rhythm of Hope, Kaibigan Foundation Children’s Choir, InetnonGefpago dance group from Guam, Insiana dance group from Lucban, Quezon, Children’s Joy Foundation and Harrie Wharmby.
The special tour culminated in a gift-giving activity where children went home with bags filled with food, toys, school supplies from the museum’s generous sponsors and donors including The Philippine STAR and The Fookien Times Yearbook Publishing Co. Inc.
