Juvenal Sanso turns 88
MANILA, Philippines — One of our most respected artists of today, Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Juvenal Sanso, celebrated his 88th birthday last November 23, alongside Fundacion Sanso’s third anniversary, with an exhibition opening at the Museo Sanso in San Juan City. The exhibition entitled “Expansive Vista” featured a selection of Sanso’s early landscapes from private collectors and from the collection of Fundacion Sanso as well.
Fundacion Sanso chairman Jack Teotico, director Dida Salita, and curator Ricky Francisco (also curator of The Lopez Museum) took the floor to welcome guests and make some important announcements.
Present during the event were Sanso’s friends, co-artists and collectors from the art industry. The guests in attendance were the first to see a copy of “La Definitiva Sanso: A Life Lived Thrice”, a new coffeetable book on Sanso’s life and legacy which will be launched this February.
