MANILA, Philippines - Edsa Shangri-La, Manila officially welcomed the beginning of the festive season with its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the hotel’s grand lobby. General manager Amit Oberoi led the ceremonial affair with special guest Mandaluyong mayor Benjamin Abalos, accompanied by Menchie Abalos and family.
It was a spectacular affair as guests walked into a white winter with brilliantly lit Christmas trees that change colors. There were snowflakes, glittering lights, polar bears, snowman, and ice castles and even to everyone’s surprise, a magical snowfall.
The night was a celebration in honor of the community which Edsa Shangri-La Manila has been a part of for the past 25 years. Guests consisting of loyal patrons, corporate accounts, celebrities and in-house guests were introduced to the children from Isla De Cocomo learning center, the beneficiary of Shangri-La’s embrace program for 19 years.
