Karen Concepcion’s ‘Inspiration’
MANILA, Philippines - Painter Karen Fabie Concepcion, who graduated from the UP College of Fine Arts, recently staged her 18th one-woman show entitled “Inspiration” at the Ayala Museum ArtistSpace.
“Inspiration” comprises works that the artist has been doing over the past two years.
"The theme, ‘being Filipino’, was something I hadn’t incorporated in my works; it was a worthwhile adventure, and learning experience for me as a Filipino artist”, she said.
Through her artful visual storytelling, the exhibition was more than just a visual diary of her inspiration, but also an eyeopener to one’s true source of happiness – deep appreciation and gratitude towards life.
Her husband, Ton Concepcion, stands by her side with all his love and support. Karen is also immensely grateful to Stella Rojas for her mentorship in painting.
Karen leaves us with a wonderful quote: “Life is wonderful and we should always be grateful for every day that is given to us. I find happiness and inspiration in my life, and I hope my paintings will bring joy to yours." Photos by Jun Mendoza
