19th French Film Festival opens in Manila

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - French cinema took the spotlight in Manila as guests from the diplomatic corps, the private sector, arts and culture, film and entertainment, and media graced the red carpet for the opening of the 19th French Film Festival in Greenbelt, Makati.

French Ambassador Gilles Garachon and Film Development Council of the Philippines chairman Briccio Santos led the evening celebration that not only sought to treat viewers to French cinema with the screening of the romantic comedy, It Boy, but to fete the signing last May 19 of a landmark film cooperation agreement between France and the Philippines.

The 19th French Film Festival was organized by the Embassy of France to the Philippines, the Alliance Française de Manille and Institut Français, in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines and in cooperation with Greenbelt, Ayala Malls Cinemas, and Ayala Center.
