MANILA, Philippines - The Royal Canadian Navy went on a goodwill visit to the Philippines, further demonstrating the strong relations between the two countries. Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Regina docked recently at the Port of Manila. The Regina last visited the country in 1996.
The Regina had just completed its assignment in Operation Artemis, Canada’s contribution to Combined Task Force (CTF) 150, a 27-nation naval coalition. Beginning in August 2012, the Regina successfully conducted maritime security and counter-terrorism operations in the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean.
