Raffles and Fairmont Hotels Grand Opening Extravaganza

MANILA, Philippines - Raffles and Fairmont  Hotels Makati celebrated its much-awaited grand opening. It was an evening filled with artistry, grace and imagination as two new icons of unrivaled presence and uncompromising luxury were unveiled. Over 600 guests were “wowed” by a journey which took them to the World of Fairmont and the World of Raffles. As guests made their way around the hotel, there were live icons everywhere. Marilyn Monroe with her skirt blowing up like in the “The Seven Year Itch” at the Fairmont lobby; Charlie Chaplin in a director’s chair and joking around with those around him with his slapstick humor in the Raffles lobby; the Queen of England having high tea at the Writers Bar. Marilyn Monroe was a regular guest of Fairmont hotels including the Savoy in London while Charlie Chaplin and the Queen of England have made Raffles Singapore their home when in the country.
