“Pennyworth is into the holistic treatment of the male grooming process. Whatever technique that works, we use it for the overall wellness of the customer,” said Felix Berbano, head of marketing for Pennyworth Men’s Nail Bar.
The list of services also include unique ones like the Dagdagay Stick Massage, the traditional foot massage of the Ifugao. It is improved with the use of hot towels and the benefit of deep tissue massage via reflexology for an immensely relaxing experience.
Not only that, but Pennyworth is also working on possibly using only organic products to assure the best for its customers.
Inspiration, beginnings
The brand was inspired by the superhero Batman’s (Bruce Wayne) most iconic valet, Alfred Pennyworth. More than just a butler, Pennyworth’s character signifies loyalty, dedication and impeccable service—the perfect English gentleman and true anchor to Bruce, in becoming the well-rounded man.
These are just some of the many reasons why the new player in male salons has adopted the name, in alignment with the company ideology.
Pennyworth Men’s Nail Bar is the brainchild of the pioneering nail care business authority, Leslie Matta. After launching the California Advanced Nail and Skincare (CANS) in 1995, known to many today as the California Nails and Day Spa. Matta was eventually moved by the desire to cater to the male market.
Four years later, Pennyworth was realized.
