MANILA, Philippines — OPM icon Chito Miranda shared how proud he is of wife Neri Naig-Miranda as a business-minded, “wais na misis.”

In his Instagram account, the Parokya ni Edgar frontman posted a selfie of him in Neri’s new business, Neri’s Not So Secret Garden in Batangas, which only opened barely a week ago.

When we 1st met, she had no money and no savings. Yung konting kinikita nya sa pag-aartista, napupunta lahat sa hinuhulugan nyang condo. Nung naging kami at kahit hanggang nung kinasal na kami, never sya humingi ng money for anything. Dun nagsimula yung "wais na misis", kasi lahat ng binibili nya, either mula sa ukay or sa thrift store lang, and lahat ng pwede nyang pagkakitaan, pinag-iisipan nya kung paano nya papalaguin. Nag-aral sya mag-luto at mag-bake, and natuto sya mag-handle ng money. Binenta nya yung mga used ukay clothes nya and yung mga lumang damit at bag nya, at ginamit nya yung naipon nya dun bilang puhunan pang-gourmet tuyo. She started with 60 bottles at nakisabay lang sya sa booth ng Parokya Shirts sa isang bazaar. Ngayon, nagpapatakbo na sya ng sarili nyang restaurant. Don't pray for success and money. Pray for the strength, the humility, the discipline, and the determination to do what needs to be done in order to succeed. Dream. Believe. Surv...este, WORK HARD.

“Umakyat ako kanina sa roofdeck at pinagmasdan ko ‘yung ginawa ng asawa ko. Napa-iling nalang talaga ako kasi kung ano ang gusto nyang gawin, pinag-pupursigihan at isinasatupad nya talaga,” Chito wrote.

Known for being vocal on how he loves his wife, Chito noted that Neri became more successful as a businesswoman than as an actress.

“When we 1st met, she had no money and no savings. Yung konting kinikita nya sa pag-aartista, napupunta lahat sa hinuhulugan nyang condo. Nung naging kami at kahit hanggang nung kinasal na kami, never sya humingi ng money for anything,” Chito said.

“Dun nagsimula yung ‘wais na misis,’ kasi lahat ng binibili nya, either mula sa ukay or sa thrift store lang, and lahat ng pwede nyang pagkakitaan, pinag-iisipan nya kung paano nya papalaguin,” he added.

Chito recalled how he saw his wife learn how to cook and bake for her business. He added that Neri sold her clothes and bags for her to have money for a business capital.

“She started with 60 bottles at nakisabay lang sya sa booth ng Parokya Shirts sa isang bazaar. Ngayon, nagpapatakbo na sya ng sarili nyang restaurant,” he said.

For those who want to succeed in business like Neri, Chito has some pieces of advice.

“Don't pray for success and money. Pray for the strength, the humility, the discipline, and the determination to do what needs to be done in order to succeed. Dream. Believe. Surv...este, WORK HARD.”
