Woman sentenced to 219 years in prison in sex ring case
BAY MINETTE, Ala. — A judge has sentenced an Alabama woman to 219 years in prison for her role in an incestuous sex ring accused of molesting children for years.
Wendy Holland showed no emotion as the judge sentenced her to what amounts to a life sentence on Thursday. Jurors convicted the 35-year-old woman of sodomy, sexual abuse and other charges last month.
Another defendant, William Brownlee, got a 20-year prison sentence.
Authorities say the two were part of a group of relatives and friends who sexually abused multiple children in Baldwin and Mobile counties.
One of the alleged victims is Brittney Wood, who disappeared at age 19 in 2012 and is now presumed dead. Holland is the teen's aunt.
